Thoughts?
Obviously a great deal for them considering they only had to give up Bynum and a meaningless pick. Also, the skillsets of their big 4 seem to complement each other very well.
On the other hand, I'm not sure why everyone is lining up to hand them the championship. Doesn't their lineup seem reminiscent of 2004? They should be an offensive powerhouse as well as being able to protect the paint and rebound. On the flip side, their perimeter D will be atrocious and there seems to be a lot of potential for team chemistry to get hairy.
On a related note; WTF was Orlando thinking. There were at least 3 other deals offered to them that were much better than this deal. Sure seems like they overplayed their hand and then panicked.
Denver is quietly building an interesting team. They'll be able to play some hellacious D AND get up and down the floor well. If Gallo blossoms into anything remotely approaching a true go-to guy, crunch-time scorer, that's an interesting team they have. I don't think it's a stretch to think they are the clear #3 seed in the West right now.
Philly could be interesting if Bynum is healthy and not a complete knucklehead.

Ridiculous of me not to be checking this board more often.
It's a great deal for the Lakers because, even if they don't win it all this year, they still have a dominant center in place that they can build around and win multiple championships. And oh yeah, they have a great team this year too. I actually think they'll win it all.
Orlando = assholes They'd have been better off just letting Dwight walk for nothing and making a statement.
