In the latest mocks, both ESPN and NBADraft.net have Perry Jones falling to the C's. If that comes to pass, this guy could be a steal if they resign KG and he can be groomed the right way. Also, if it happens, people can stop pining for Josh Smith.

Yeah he's slipping bigtime. I'll take. I hope we keep both the picks. This draft is so deep and we need as much youth as we can get. I hope we move up in the 2nd too. The kid I've always liked is Draymond Green.

I saw this on Celticslife.com so take it for what it's worth. The rumor they heard is that NO will give up their 2nd lottery pick (#10) if some team also takes Okafor's contract.

Yeah, which makes me wonder if Danny is scheming to nab Rivers. A Rondo Rivers backcourt could be dynamic.

On the ESPN C's board, I talked about NO being willing to give up their 2nd pick to get rid of Okafor and one of the clowns there couldn't wrap his mind around the idea that if a contract is a liability, you have to give up an asset to get rid of it. Hilarious. Thing is, would the C's have to match salaries to make a deal like that or would they be enough under the cap? How would it impact their ability to bring back KG? Is Bass restricted? Could we sign/trade him as part of the deal?
Logistics aside, and I know it's a pipe dream, but a dream offseason would be:
Trade #22, our 2nd round pick, and s/t Bass to NO for Okafor, #10 and their 2nd round pick. Resign KG to a 2 year deal Resign Pietrus and Dooling to minimum 1 year deals Sign Green to 3-4 year deal Draft Rivers, Perry Jones, Festus Ezeli
C - Okafor, Ezeli, Stiemmsma PF - KG, Green, Jones SF - Pierce, Pietrus SG - Bradley, Rivers PG - Rondo, Dooling
You're a little young at SG, but if Bradley continues to improve and Rivers is the real deal, you're set. Still that strong veteran core in KG, Pierce, Rondo, Pietrus and Dooling complemented by young athletes in Green, Jones, Bradley and Rivers. If Okafor is healthy and has an epiphany from playing with KG, that's a championship roster with a future!

can't amnesty him. you can only amnesty players that were on your roster prior to the new CBA.
I'm all for it though. Get Okafor and the 10, pic Rivers. Package both picks to move up and grab Tyler Zeller.

Hornets got rid of Okafor's (and Ariza's) contract without giving up the #10 pick. Can't say I blame them for taking that deal.

Are you kidding me - the Hornets fucking raped them. They even got a high second round pick in a deep draft out of it as well.
Now they can do a SnT with Gordon (prob Indiana), draft Rivers at 10, and have loads of cap space to do things like absorbing some bad deals while potentially being able to accumulate other key assets. And oh yeah, they have already have a great coach and a dominant 20 year old big man under their control for the next whenever.
Safe to say they are in great shape.

They're only in great shape if Davis pans out and becomes a great player in 4-6 years. If he's a bust, then they're in some trouble.
